Makeover Monday: Stepping Up Joyful Friends for Christmas

It’s Makeover Monday, and today I’m stepping up yesterday’s Simple Sunday card featuring the adorable Joyful Friends Stamp Set!

I kept the same sweet focal image, colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers, along with the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper, but added a few extra details to give the card a more finished, layered look.

I trimmed down the Designer Series Paper and added pretty scalloped borders on each side using the Bordered in Beauty Dies. The Basic White background was embossed with the new Softly Woven Embossing Folder, (available September 1, 2026) adding just the right amount of texture.

Behind the stamped image, I added an additional die-cut layer to help it stand out even more. A change of ribbon and a sprinkling of festive embellishments provide the finishing touches.

I love adding a little something to the inside—it makes the entire card feel extra special and complete!

For the inside of the card, I carried the design through by adding a strip of the A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper along the bottom. The simple “Christmas” sentiment and a sweet baker’s twine bow add just enough detail while still leaving plenty of room for a handwritten holiday message.
