It’s Makeover Monday, and today I’m stepping up yesterday’s Simple Sunday card with a few elegant details and plenty of gorgeous gold!
I kept the beautiful Elegant Leaves Bundle (available September 1, 2026) and the Blackberry Bliss and Very Vanilla color combination, but added several special touches to give the card a more polished look.
For the leaves, I die cut the veins to add extra texture and dimension. I also changed the sentiment, heat embossing it in gold for a beautiful coordinating shine.
Behind the embossed Very Vanilla panel, I added a thin layer of Gold Foil, along with a layer of Floral Charm Designer Series Paper to bring in even more depth and interest.
Finally, I replaced the simple Linen Thread bow from yesterday’s card with a more elegant Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon bow and finished everything off with a few gold embellishments.
The inside of the card carries the elegant design through beautifully. I added a strip of Floral Charm DSP accented with a delicate Gold Foil border, then finished it with two coordinating leaves and a simple Linen Thread bow.
I love how just a few changes can completely transform a card! The added texture, layers, and touches of gold give this Makeover Monday version a beautiful, elegant finish while still keeping the same basic design as the Simple Sunday card.
